Job offer: Project Manager in Structural Mass Spectrometry (M/F)

Job description

You will join a team of 16 biochemists/biophysicists which supports pre-clinical projects.

Under the supervision of a senior project manager, you will be expected to:

  • Project scoping and management of Structural Mass Spectrometry projects for our clients
  • Being the main contact for clients within the scope of your projects
  • Design and execute  MS studies, such as quality control under native and denaturing conditions, binding studies between biomolecules such as protein-ligand, protein-protein or protein-nucleic acid, compound screening (covalent or not), measuring binding affinities, HDX-MS, …
  • MS data analysis and interpretation
  • Preparation of protocols, SOPs and documentation of experiments
  • Troubleshoot, technical development and evaluation of novel applications
  • Written/oral reporting of data and discussing results with clients
  • Responsibility of training, managing developing lab staff when required

We are looking for dynamic, flexible and passionate expert in Structural Mass Spectrometry or related fields to join the team of our Biology unit.

Major requirements:

  • A Master/PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in the MS field
  • Experience in sample preparation for MS, development and evaluation of analytical methods (e.g. LC-MS/MS protein)
  • Track record of characterized/analyzed biological molecules desirable
  • Experienced in interpreting and fitting data to various models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Self-organization, team playing skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Scientific confidence to challenge existing system & processes
  • Experience in managing client engagement and studies
  • Knowledge of another biophysic technics (e.g. SPR, MST, ITC, DLS…) would be much appreciated.
