Project manager in organic chemistry (M/F) – BELGIUM

Under the responsibility of a team leader, you will join a pharmaceutic company in which you will contribute by molecule syntheses to move forward the research programs. Your work will consist in:

• Conducting chemistry programs for the delivery of new chemical entities.
• Carrying out and monitoring multi-step organic syntheses (mg to g scale), the purification of the molecules obtained and their characterization (LC-MS, NMR).
• Managing and supervising research associates.
• Reporting your work to the client.

Your projects can involve both the reproduction and optimization of already established syntheses as well as the setting up of novel procedures leading to innovative molecules for therapeutic ends.

Location: Mechelen, Belgium.

Profile

You should have a PhD in organic chemistry, with a post-doctoral experience and at least 2 years’ previous industry experience in organic chemistry, during which you have deepened and widened your practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of organic chemistry.

We are seeking a person who is passionate about organic chemistry and who has a keen sense of responsibility as well as being a committed team player. The candidate will have a rigorous and organized attitude to work with excellent reporting skills. Fluent in English both spoken and written. Speaking Dutch is an asset.
