Job description

You will be working in the electron microscopy team within the fast-growing structural biology group, and you will be in charge of the following:

  • Lead the running of the cryo-EM facility. 
  • Develop project proposals, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Project management :
    • Prepare cryo-EM grids, collect data and solve structures of protein complexes.
    • Communication and reporting with customers.
  • Pilot the on-going collaboration with a renown academic laboratory and a new project with European Union fundings.
  • Contribute expertise to collaborate with the in-house structural biology team.
  • Train research associates and other scientific staff in methods/techniques.

Profile :

We are looking for a motivated scientist in structural biology with at least a 2 or 3 years post-doctoral experience in cryo-EM. Skills required:

  • Knowledge in protein biochemistry and protein purification.
  • Proficient at sample preparation and operating a microscope (acquisition, analysis, troubleshooting).
  • 3D reconstruction and structural analysis.

In addition, you should have an excellent communication skill to establish fruitful and trustable relationships with clients and colleagues. The candidate is expected to be highly rigorous, reliable, organized and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
