Decarboxylative Amination: Diazirines as Single and Double Electrophilic Nitrogen Transfer Reagents

Justin Lopchuk and coworkers demonstrated that a readily accessible diazirine could be used as electrophilic nitrogen transfer reagents in the decarboxylative amination of redox-active esters. A very nice tool to transform aliphatic carboxylic acids (via redox-active ester formation) into the corresponding amines, hydrazines or other aza-heterocycles.
