Attend Novalix presentation at the 6th edition of the International Symposium on Synthesis and Catalysis (ISySyCat 2025) taking place at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra, in Portugal.
The conference will spotlight major advancements in contemporary organic, organometallic, polymer, and materials synthesis, with a strong emphasis on catalysis, which are topics of great relevance to both academic and industrial chemists. ISySyCat will highlight the central role of catalysis in chemical synthesis, integrating cutting-edge approaches such as continuous flow chemistry, photoredox catalysis, and electrosynthesis.
The conference will include plenary lectures, short talks and 3 poster sessions. Do not miss Novalix scientific poster!
Novalix scientific poster
Maxence Holzritter, Scientist Chemistry, will present a Novalix poster entitled:
“Electrochemical reaction for accelerated drug discovery: From carboxylic acids to radical generation, the uses of redox active esters”.
He will highlight the EDCC (Electrochemical Decarboxylative Cross Coupling) methodology, a promising tool in modern synthesis.
EDCC is particularly valuable for small-scale functionalization of building blocks, especially ahead of the final steps in synthesis. While scale-up can be more time-consuming than traditional methods, EDCC offers three clear advantages:
– Easy to set up: compatibility with air atmosphere
– Requires fewer catalysts vs RCC or photochemical methods
– Offers greater reliability thanks to controlled electron production
This technique opens new opportunities for efficient, selective transformations in drug discovery and development.
If you are also attending, set a meeting and catch up. We look forward to meeting you there!
