
Since the early 1980s, the proportion of women in employment has increased steadily and today represents 48% of the working population, but only 28.9% in industry.1 In the pharmaceutical industry, 57% of the workforce is composed by women, the proportion decreases to 20% on the boards of directors.2
None of the world’s 16 largest pharmaceutical companies (in terms of sales) has achieved parity in its governance bodies.2
