NovAliX is committed to integrating young scientists on the professional market by offering a first work experience. In this context, we would like to thank Laly Donnier-Valentin, Emilie Debarnot and Maxime Equi for their involvement and time spent with us in our facility at Val-de-Reuil, France.
Laly’s work focus to develop a general, reliable and scalable methodology to perform Csp2-Csp3 cross couplings in continuous flow chemistry, notably via Negishi coupling.
Maxime and Emilie have studied bicyclo [1.1.0] butanes (BCB), an increasingly valued scaffold in organic and medicinal chemistry but whose synthetic access remains limited. Their objective was to develop a synthesis to access trisubstituted BCBs, as the existing methods don’t allow an in-depth exploration of the scope or a late-stage diversification. They thus synthesized trisubstituted BCBs, therefore enriching our fragment library with undescribed scaffolds, and used them to afford bicyclo [1.1.1] pentanes (BCP) or as a potential covalent inhibitor.

Special thanks to Yannick , Sophie, Antoine and Etienne for their contributions to this post.
