NovAliX receives the best poster Price at XXV EFMC International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry

Posted on Oct 16, 2018

NovAliX scientist’s work has been recognized by a “best poster prize” during the last edition of the EFMC-ISMC meeting, recently held in Lubidjana, Slovenia.

This conference addressed the latest advances in Drug Discovery in different sessions separated by advances in technologies, therapeutic areas and biological chemistry.  The 2018 edition attracted 870 participants from both academia and industry.

NovAliX was pleased to present the work resulting of an internal research project. The poster presentation described the combination of biophysical and structural techniques allowing to characterize and uncover the mechanisms underlying increased binding afnity of lactosamine derivatives for galectin 3. In particular, complementing information gathered from X-ray crystallography, native mass spectrometry, isothermal microcalorimetry, Biacore SPR, MST, NanoDSF and others were compared to each other.

The poster titled “Kinetic and Thermodynamic Characterization of Pi-Cation Interactions for Galectin-3 by various biophysical tools” was awarded to be amongst the Top 10 posters from a total of 381 posters presented during the conference.  Winner of the poster prize was Dr. Céline Ronin, a long-term collaborator of NovaliX and expert in protein crystallography.

This award recognizes the great talent of our scientists and the high-quality research provided by our team, which demonstrated its expertise and vast experience in biophysical and structural sciences.

The NovAliX management would like to express its sincerest congratulations to the NovAliX team that has contributed to this project
